If practice makes perfect...

Then I really need lots more practice. At least I am having fun along the way though. Here are some of what I have been working on with my new sewing obsession...

This was my very first creation. You can't really tell, but it is a sweet lavender pattern. It is really plain though, so I am trying to think of something that I could add to it to spice it up. Ideas?

This is a sweet little infant bib that snaps at the neck. The back is lined with terry cloth. This takes so little fabric, I am planning on making a bunch more.
This is a burp cloth trimed in ribbon. I am not sure that I like trimming in ribbon this thin. As you can see in the next pic it is really hard (for me at least) to get the stiches straight.
This is a precious little dress I made for Emerson. I love the fun fabric combinations. The main fabric has brightly colored pinafores all over it. This was challenging for a beginner with all the ruffles, but I did it! If you look closely you will see tons of mistakes...but the fabric pattern hides most of them and it is still very wearable.

Another one
One more
These are those cute little crayon rolls that you see in boutiques. I made two for my nieces that are coming to visit tomorrow. Once again, these are not even close to perfect, but they made for good practice because there is a ton of stitching involved.

Hey, you're doing really well! I wouldn't have a clue how to even get started on a sewing project! Way to go! Everything is beautiful and your sweet Emmerson looks so sweet in the dress! You'll have an etsy shop before you know it!

WOW! I am impressed. Everything you have made is so precious! It makes me want to take sewing lessons to actually learn how to use the machine I have had sitting in my house unused for 2 years now!

I'm so jealous! I want to learn to sew! It looks INCREDIBLE! I think you're doing awesome, w/ practice, you'll really be able to sell this stuff. It's adorable. Make some good BOY clothes :-) There's just nothing out there!!! And I like the lavendar dress like it is :-)

I love the little dress with the ruffles-did you use a pattern for that? I haven't seen a tutorial like that-if you have it-send it my way! :)
I think the lavender dress is so cute, but you could always add an applique towards on the bottom toward the right or left (did that make sense?) to dress it up. I like simple birds on little girl's dresses-like this one...

Aren't the crayon rolls fun-I give them at every toddler birthday party we get invited to.
You're doing a great job-you certainly get a heck of a lot more projects done than I do!!

The dress for Emerson is just adorable, and the purple one is too cute!!! Maybe add some small white daisies near the neckline of the purple one??? Then you could make a matching headband with the daisies and some of the purple fabric and some elastic??? I tried getting into sewing when the boys were little, but there is nothing fun to sew for little boys!!
I see you selling girly dresses in the future! All of your creations are just fantastic!!! Love it!

Seriously....those are GREAT!!!

I am sooooo jealous! I hire my sister and another friend to do all my dewing. I am actually taking my sister's sewing machine to MS next week and asking my Nana for lessons. My sis is going off to school and won't be home to use it much so I am kidnapping it for a year or 4. I hope to produce some things - it would sure save us money since I am obsessed with all things custom made these days! LOL!! I am also really wanting some cute pajama pants for JD!
