No, I mean Yes

Emerson is all about the "No" right now. She has several different "no's"for different situations. She has a shy, quiet and barely audible "No". She uses it when she is being silly or shy. Then she has a long and drawn out "No" that she uses when she is just saying no to say no. Luckily (knock on wood) we have not gotten to the screaming tantrum "No", yet.

Emerson is hillarious because she gets so into saying no that she often says no when she means yes. For example, if she is fussing, I will go through a list of questions to find out what is wrong...

"Emerson, are you tired?"

"No"

"Are you hungry?"

"No"

"Are you thirsty?"

"No"
"Do you want to read"

"No"

"Are you hungry?"

"No"

"Are you hungry?"

"No"

"Are you hungry?"

...Pause...."Yes"-- Of course, you are!

I have to say that I am super thankful for how well she responds to questions though. It has made things so helpful and communication is getting easier eventhough she is not talking yet.

Here are some photos from a backyard photoshoot the other day.

Hope you have a great week.

What cute pictures. Isn't it funny how they can change their minds so quickly? My son does the same thing. It is almost like the first time you ask them something it just gives them the idea. By the way I love Emerson's dress...so trendy!
