School's in session...

As if I have nothing else going on in my free time, I am now in grad school! Well, actually BACK in grad school is more appropriate.

I started my masters program at UNT 4 or 5 years ago when I was working. The program is geared toward getting a masters in merchandising- a dream program for me! Anyways, I took a couple of classes every semester that I could and slowly worked my way through. When I got pregnant with Emerson I was so overwhelmed (and sick) that I decided to take some time off eventhough I was so close to finishing.

Well, time just flys and look at me, I have been out of the program for 2 years! I thought that my credits would last forever and I could just jump in and finish at any time. Wrong!

My advising professor, who is an angel, literally tracked me down 2 weeks ago. All the contact information she had for me had changed- Literally all of it- address, phone number, email, everything. She took the liberty to look me up in the phonebook and call our house! Isn't that wonderful. It was so funny because I came home and there was this message saying--"I don't know if you are the right person or not, but if you are the Sabrina working toward her masters at UNT, pleae call me!"

So, I called her to find out that if I don't FINISH the program by Spring 2010 then I will start losing credit hours. NOOOOO! We sat down and looked at the schedule- I only need 3 more classes- 9 hours- to finish. It just so happened (yea right- God is divine in His timing) that the 3 classes I need to finish are all offered between now and spring- and the best part is that they are offered one at a time- so, I don't have to double up on classes.

As of yesterday I am officially in summer school! I am taking one class this summer and then one in the fall and one in the spring. I am excited about the class I am taking this summer. It is based on something in Merchandising that I FIRMLY believe in. I have super strong opionions and will thoroughly enjoy sharing them with my classmates.

The bummer about the whole thing is that the fall and spring classes I have left are going to be doozies with a capital D. They are super hard, not a part of my major but a part of the general masters program. They have been put off until the end for a reason. Ugh...

Wow! Congratulations! If we move up to UT, I've been thinking about going back to work on my Master's as well, just not sure how I would juggle it all. Good luck! I'm excited for you!!

That sounds so exciting...you are so close to being done! I have thought about doing it, but not sure I could find the time with work, my son, and my husbands crazy work hours.

Good Luck!
