In the past week...

I turned 30!- Hubby threw me an awesome, surprise girls-night out.

We named our new baby boy, Ashton!- Seriously, I LOVE his name.

I got a spiffy new, longer distance lens for my camera and started playing with it yesterday. Here are some pics of Emy playing in the backyard...I know they aren't much yet, I just love that I can get a face shot of her without actually being in her face:)

Two BIG Announcements!

First of all, Noodles & Milk released its first sewing pattern today! The nursing pillow cover pattern to fit Boppy TM.

If you are a sewer or have any sewing friends and family, please pass the word on. This pattern is sooooo easy and is super useful to new mommies. Every new mommy owns a Boppy TM and should cover it with something super cute!

This pattern is the first of many, so keep your eyes peeled! You can get it here.

In family news, we had our big mid-pregnancy sonogram yesterday... the baby looks great and is developing right on track. The big news is that we are having a

BOY!

We are seriously so thrilled! Before you ask, we do have a name picked out. We are just letting it sink in for a few more days before "revealing" it. You know how it is with baby stuff, once you tell people the name, there is no going back!

Family Pictures

With the whole family being together for Easter, we thought it would be a great time for family pictures. Normally, we would have used Amber, but since she does not live in Texas anymore that was not an option. So, I used facebook and friend recommendations and found Dana with Tin Star Photography.

The day of our pictures, it was a complete monsoon! We really did not want to reschedule so we decided to tough it out. Despite the weather and all the girls having CRAZY frizzy-rain hair, we were able to get lots of great shots...Of course, Emerson was the most photogenic (as usual).

Here are some of the favorites.

Birthday Fun

Happy Birthday to Jaylee!

Today we went to Jaylee's 2nd birthday. Jaylee is Emerson best friend. They play a lot together and adore playing together. Emerson has been super excited about Jaylee's party for weeks now. Of course the day finally arrives and Emerson is in a terrible mood. Emy is cutting her last two molars so she is super sensitive to everything, but she ended up having fun despite the new teeth.

Such a big girl!

Emerson got a big girl bed over Easter weekend. To say that she loves it would be a serious understatement. When I go in to get her out of bed in the morning or after nap, I have a really hard time getting her out of bed. She wants to snuggle there, play with her bunnies there and read, read, read.

Right now we have the summer quilt on it. This quilt is seriously the cutest thing ever. My mother-in-law made it and it is so cute. It is covered with beach-themed applique blocks. It is pretty light weight and the right color scheme for her big girl room. The aqua dot cover at the end of the bed will be her winter blanket since it is much thicker.

On another note, we went to the park this afternoon for some playtime and a picnic. Here are a couple cute pictures.

Hope you had a great weekend!

PS- Emy's big girl bed does have a rail on the side- it was just folded down for pictures:)

Calling all crafters!

I have just about finished up my first two Noodles & Milk patterns. I am looking for testers. I am hoping to have about 10 people test each one.

Aren't they cute?

Here are the details:

-I would like the pattern to be tested within 1 week.

-I am looking for all kinds of feedback on everything from the way the pattern is written to what fonts are used.

-I will likely use most of the feedback that I receive, but in the chance that I do not use your feedback, please do not be offended and know that I took it in to consideration and had good reasoning not to use it.

-After all the feedback is received and changes are made, I will email you the final draft of the pattern for you to keep.

-These patterns will be for sale in my shop. I am allowing crafters to sell the merchandise that they make from these patterns and will allow you to do the same! (Obvioulsy, you cannot sell or pass on the actual pattern itself).

-If you are interested in testing one or both of these patterns, please leave a comment with your email address.

- I have a call out for testers here, on Facebook and on another friends blog. I will be taking the first 10 responses for each pattern. If I get more than that, I will happily keep your email and contact you in the future (I plan on writing another 10 or so in the next few months!)

Easter Recap

Easter weekend was so much fun! We started with dyeing eggs on Friday. Emerson thought this was pretty neat. She really liked watching the eggs changing colors.

Grandad helped dye some eggs.

Friday after dinner, we enjoyed the wonderful weather outside. Emerson absolutely loved playing "soccer" with her uncle Scott.

We decided to do the Easter Bunny festivities on Saturday. Emerson loved opening all the eggs to find prizes.

All the loot that the Easter Bunny left her. All this stuff held a very tiny candle to the candy in the plastic eggs.

Finding the real eggs outside.

Found one in the trees.

After dinner on Sunday night, enjoying a yummy treat outside.

I hope that you had as great a weekend with your family as we did! Happy Easter!
